On Saturday, October 6, 2007, family, friends, and distinguished guests joined the staff of 90.3 The Core, RLC-WVPH FM Radio, for a banquet that celebrated going live with the Tower of Tomorrow. Members of the Rutgers and Piscataway Communities lent their words as the new tower went live, increasing the WVPH signal's strength by 85%. The dinner allowed the station to properly thank all those who helped along the way to make the Tower of Tomorrow a reality. From the community who helped support the project to the engineers and technicians who helped make the tower a physical reality, WVPH thanked all involved who made the Tower of Tomorrow possible.

The event was broadcast live on the station's new signal as WVPH wanted to make sure that those in attendance were not the only ones who could feel a part of the dedication ceremony. Guests at the dinner included The Piscataway High School Men's Ensemble, whose voices lit up the banquet. In addition, Soterios Johnson, host of NPR's Morning Edition show on WNYC, spoke of the importance of independent media and what a community radio station can do with its place on the radio dial.

Over 200 guests attended the dedication. Along with the speakers, videos were shown to help dedicate the tower. Around the start of the dinner, we watched a short video that looked back on the work that it took WVPH to get the new tower. From the marathon that raised $20,000 to the tower rigging over the last summer, it was a difficult process along the way, but the station did it! At the end of the dinner, the tower was dedicated to all those who helped make it possible and those who continue to support WVPH radio.

Most importantly, the event celebrated looking ahead to the future of WVPH radio. The signal is now stronger than ever, and will reach over a million people in Central Jersey every day. The Tower of Tomorrow is here, and tomorrow is looking brighter than ever before.
